Evelyn Ijeh, daughter of former Nigeria striker Peter Ijeh has signed a permanent contract with AC Milan until 2027, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Evelyn was handed the permanent deal by the Italian giants after excelling at the club on loan from Tigres UANL last season, scoring four goals in 15 appearances for the Rossonere.
They announced this in a statement on their website on Wednesday titled, ‘Permanent deal for Ijeh’ and read, “AC Milan is delighted to announce that Evelyn Ijeh has joined the club on a permanent deal from Club Tigres Femenil l UANL. The Swedish forward, who joined AC Milan on loan in January, picked up 15 appearances and four goals for the Rossonere. Evelyn has signed a contract with the club until June 30, 2027.”
Evelyn’s father celebrated the new deal with a short Facebook post on Thursday, leaving a plethora of congratulatory messages in its wake.
Evelyn, who mainly operates as a striker and has played in all positions, even as a goalkeeper as a child, started her professional career with Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC in 2017 and played there until 2020 before going on to play for BK Häcken FF, 2021 Lidköpings FK, Växjö DFF, and Tigres UANL.
Evelyn was invited to the Super Falcons in 2021 and was part of the team’s trip to Vienna, Austria, during their eight-day training camp after she was handed a surprise call-up alongside her younger sibling Josephine.
Both were not selected in the squad for the Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand but Evelyn was called up by Sweden to be part of the team’s training trip to Portugal ahead of the tournament.
